What Is It?
The Community Based In Home Service program provides low cost personal care or homemaking services to qualified individuals.
To qualify, a client must be 60 years old, or 18 and at risk of prematurely going into an institution. The client must also be considered at risk and unable to perform daily tasks of living because of physical, emotional or cognitive issues or at risk for abuse or neglect.
In-Home Services Are Designed To:
- Foster self-sufficiency
- Prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation
- Maintain individuals in the least restrictive environment
- Prevent inappropriate or premature institutionalization
Services
In-Home Services are customized to target the needs of each individual in the program. Services are designed to provide support yet maintain the client’s dignity, respect, and independence. Services will be limited to availability of funds.
Services Include:
- Personal Care—Under the supervision of a registered nurse, a certified nursing assistant (CNA), provides services such as bathing and other personal activities.
- Housekeeping—Includes housecleaning, vacuuming, dishes, and laundry.
- Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)—Better known as Lifeline. Around-the-clock electronic warning devices for standby monitoring.
CBIHS Services Are Available Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Cost of Services
The Access Care Coordinator will discuss the cost of services during her visit with the client. Fees are based on a “sliding scale” according to income.
No person is denied services based upon their inability to pay. Donations are accepted.
